Next week, we will begin our sixth year of preschool here at the Children's Studio! Miss Abby, Miss Lauren, Mrs. Courtney, and I have all been hard at work preparing our classrooms for the first day of school. As you scroll down through pictures of our classrooms, I'd like to share our plans for the first day of school.

On the first day of preschool, both parents and children will be experiencing a range of emotions. They may be excited, nervous, or even a bit sad as the children begin their first preschool experience. Regardless, we will be waiting at the door to welcome each and every family with open arms. While we hope that there are no tears, we also realize that some separation anxiety is a normal part of development and can be expected. We will give lots of hugs and words of encouragement. We will take the children by the hand and show them all of the fun activities we have planned for the day...

When all of the children have arrived, we'll start our day in circle time, getting to know each other and playing a fun game...
|
Then we'll learn a little bit about our classroom...

Next, we will spend the morning playing until snack time...
|
Things will look and feel very similar on the first day of school in our pre-kindergarten classroom. For most of our pre-kindergarteners, this is their second year at the Children's Studio, so I don't expect to see many tears, maybe just a little nervousness and a whole lot of excitement. Our pre-k students will begin their day by signing in...

We will have circle time and read a story. Then we will spend the morning playing and familiarizing ourselves with our new classroom...

The last half of our day will be spent outside and in the outdoor classroom...
